Even though many look to escape the bustling streets and seek sollice in the hills of Portugal, there comes a time when you may look for some retail therapy.
Coimbra is the second largest city in Portugal and is located in the Central region. Although the city is steeped in history with one of the oldest universitys and was once the capitial of Portugal, many of the younger generation are now looking for skilled jobs in urban areas and places like Coimbra are being developed, something that can be seen by the new housing going up on the outskirts of the city.
Coimbra offers a wide variety of retail opportunities with modern shops, boutiques, markets and shopping centres such as La Dolce Vita, Continent, Macro and the Forum. Overlooking the Mondego River The Forum has a hypermarket, retail complex, 6 screen multiplex cinema, leisure facilities and a large food court, perfect for that day out in the city!
Shops open 9am - 1pm and 3pm - 7pm.
On Saturdays most shops close at 1pm.
