Bombeiros - Portuguese fire fighters
Bombeiros is the name given to groups of operational units that are based across the country that provide emergency resuce assistance in situations of fires, floods, underwater rescue, landslides and road accidents, with many of the rural groups being professionally trained volunteers.
Apart from attending emergency situations, their mission is to raise awareness of their organisation and educate people of the risks and issues of forest fires.
